Lotus in a Pond – the name comes from the founder, Aparna's life philosophy that just as the beautiful lotus blossoms even in dirty water and mud, each one of us can blossom and reach our utmost potential despite barriers – external or internal.
We are motivated by the chance to create value in people`s lives. Our Founder Aparna, brings in her background in the arts and film into coaching, leadership and development.
We use doodling, painting, collage-making, scrap-book work, various forms of drawing to ideate, conceptualise and come up with all types of possibilities and solutions to achieve a goal.
Art helps our trainees and coaches relax, open up, and become more self-aware, thus building empathy for others` ideas, enhancing creativity and innovation. An immersive art process gives them a chance to understand themselves better and play to their strengths.
In 2018, Aparna gave a talk on The Use of Art in Coaching at the International Coach Federation's, Delhi NCR Chapter forum. This talk was approved by the ICF for 1.5 CCEUs.
Aparna is also certified to conduct Hogan assessments, which she uses actively in her coaching work. Additionally, she uses the learning from Hogan and the framework for debriefing in her trainings.
After 18+ years of experience in the media and entertainment business including communications & marketing roles, she made a shift to training and coaching a few years ago and is now applying for her ACC. Her experience has given her a keen understanding of the complexities and challenges of both corporate cultures and creative endeavors. A natural people`s person, she invites immense trust, engagement and ensuing results from her trainees and coachees.
At Lotus in a Pond, we work with a team of external facilitators who come from both, training, design, music and UX backgrounds; additionally instructional designers who are well-versed with art-based training.
